File Checker Error Messages
Error 1: Missing image file.
Error 2: Image colour mode is not RGB.
Please make sure no images are in grayscale or CMYK mode.
Error 3: Some colour profiles are not embedded.
Error 4: Colour profiles are mixed.
Please save all pages with the same colour profile.
Error 5: Resolution of cover page is incorrect. It should be 260 dpi.
Please do not change resolution.
Error 6: Resolution of body pages is incorrect. It should be 271 dpi.
Please do not change page resolution.
Error 7: Incorrect page size. Please don't modify the sizes or resolution.
Error 8: No valid file names were found in the folder.
Please do not modify the file names.
Error 9: Files are not in the correct JPEG format. Please check your file types.

What is File Checker?
File Checker is our program designed to assist you in the file preparation process. This application will ensure your designed files have met the specifications required to produce your AsukaBook and generate a PDF for your order.

Why do I have to use File Checker?
File Checker will generate a single PDF file that will be needed to place an AsukaBook order. The PDF file contains all your page designs and the necessary order information.
The program will verify the following:
● Number of files
● Embedded colour profile of Adobe RGB or sRGB
● The same embedded colour profile for all files
● Correct file naming convention
● Dimensions
● Resolution
If any information above is incorrect, an Error Message will appear and you must make appropriate changes to be able to create a file for your order. File Checker ensures that all files are prepared correctly, according to the AsukaBook printer's specifications.

What is the latest version of File Checker available?
The most current version of File Checker is version 3.1.0 for PC, version 3.1.0 for Mac.

Can I use other programs such as Photoshop and Acrobat to create the PDF?
No. File Checker will verify file specifications required by our printer and assign a unique name to the generated PDF. This PDF contains all the information for your order including personal selections such as quantity, hot stamping text, colour of case, etc. This information is only included in a PDF created by the File Checker program, so it must be used to place an order properly.

What are the hardware specifications recommended to install and run the AsukaBook File Checker software?
The following specifications are recommended:
● PC - 1GHz or faster processor and at least 500MB RAM. Windows XP/2000/7
● Mac - G4 or faster processor and at least 500MB RAM. OSX only.

How do I install File Checker?
● Download the appropriate version of File Checker.
● Move the File Checker application icon onto your desktop.
Un-archiving/Unzipping
We recommend using software programs such as WinZip or Stuffit Expander. Please refer to the software's web site and manual for instructions.

What is my activation code?
Your Activation Code is your AsukaBook User ID which needs to be entered into File Checker before you can create your PDFs. You must enter your User ID as the Activation Code which the system uses to verify that the PDF's being uploaded match your account. You may contact us for your Activation Code.

What do the errors in File Checker mean?
There are various errors File Checker may prompt. Please refer below.

File Checker Error Messages

Error 1: Missing image file.
● Check that all files are JPEG format (Example:002003.jpg)
● Check number of sides and number of files required
100 sides - 52 Jpeg files
90 sides - 47 Jpeg files
80 sides - 42 Jpeg files
70 sides - 37 Jpeg files
60 sides - 32 Jpeg files
50 sides - 27 Jpeg files
40 sides - 22 Jpeg files
30 sides - 17 Jpeg files
20 sides - 12 Jpeg files
10 sides - 7 Jpeg files
● Check that all files follow the correct naming convention.
File names cannot have spaces, or 'copy' as part of the name.
● Correct file names
000000.jpg - Back & Front cover page
000001.jpg - First inside page
002003.jpg - Spread of 2nd & 3rd page
004005.jpg - Spread of 4th & 5th page
etc...
100000.jpg - Last inside page for a 100 side book
(Example: 050000.jpg for 50 side book, 080000.jpg for 80 side book)
● Verify cover (000000.jpg) dimension is correct for selected book size.

Error 2: Image colour mode is not RGB.
Please make sure no images are in grayscale or CMYK mode.
One or more files do not match the correct colour space. Please change all files' colour space to Adobe RGB or sRGB.

One or more files do not have a colour space embedded. Please change all files' colour space to Adobe RGB or sRGB.

Please save all pages with the same colour profile.

Error 5: Resolution of cover page is incorrect. It should be 260 dpi.

Cover page (000000.jpg) should have a set resolution of 260 dpi. All AsukaBook templates have correct resolution set (260 dpi for the cover and 271 for inside pages).

Please do not change page resolution.
All body pages (inside pages) should have a set resolution of 271 dpi. All AsukaBook templates have correct resolution set (260 dpi for the cover and 271 for inside pages).

Error 7: Incorrect page size. Please don't modify the sizes or resolution.
Template canvas size is incorrect. Verify the dimensions for selected book size. All AsukaBook templates have correct dimensions set.
