To get started with AsukaBook, download our AsukaBook Marketing Guide

Follow these steps below to become an AsukaBook customer and to create a unique and exquisite AsukaBook
for yourself or your client. Please also refer the Downloads or F.A.Q pages for further instructions and details.



1. Register with AsukaBook

AsukaBook products are available to professional photographers and album designers in the UK & Ireland creating books for resale or promotions. Please click here to register with AsukaBook UK & Ireland.

An email approving your registration request or requesting further information will be sent to you within 2 business days. Once your registration has been ''Approved'', you will receive your User ID, price list and more tips and resources to get started by email. You will also receive a ''Welcome Pack'' containing product information and 3 sample page finishes within 4 weeks of confirmed registration. To protect the integrity and confidentiality of our registered customers,
we do not disclose our prices to the general public as well as ordering capability. For this reason, verifying professional status is imperative. We may request further information from you such as website, membership of photography associations, and/or sample images. Your cooperation with this process is most obliged.





2. Settings

Download AsukaBook's printer Colour Profile and calibrate your monitor.

To ensure that the colours you see on your monitor will closely match your printed book, it is essential to have the appropriate printer profile and a properly calibrated monitor. It is your full responsibillity to ensure that the colours used in your file(s) are what you would like to be printed so it is highly recommended that you review your editied images with our printer profile and calibrated monitor to verify approximate desired colour accuracy and consistency.




3. Design the pages

There are many great options available to design an AsukaBook.

ASUKABOOK Maker™ 2 (ABM2) NEW!

ASUKABOOK Maker™ 2 is a new comprehensive design software available exclusively to AsukaBook customers. The software is available for free and does not require any other design programs to easily layout a book design from start to finish.

Take advantage of the variety of design options available to cater to all design needs and abilities, as well as layout templates, sloppy borders, masks, actions, and many other image enhancement tools.

Photoshop® Blank Templates

AsukaBook provides Blank Templates to allow for complete design freedom. Each template is unique in size and guideline placement so it is necessary that you select the appropriate set. The guidelines display where the canvas will be cut in production, as well as the spine and gutters.

ASUKABOOK InDesign® Tool (ABID) NEW!

The ASUKABOOK InDesign Tool has been created to offer an additional alternative AsukaBook design option and more efficient workflow to design layouts for an AsukaBook in Adobe® InDesign. It integrates seamlessly in InDesign and allows you to simply setup a book layout, create and use custom templates, automatically layout a proof book, resize a design instantly and finally generate a PDF file for an AsukaBook order.

Album*Design by everleaf

AsukaBook and Everleaf have partnered to offer a turnkey album design solution. Everleaf will design your AsukaBook for you with as much or as little design input as you would like. Simply send them your edited images in the order you would like them to appear and inform them of the type and style of book you would like, and they will layout a beautiful book for you. You will have the opportunity to proof the design before it is complete, and they will then place your AsukaBook order for you.

Other software

AsukaBook knows there are many other design options out there and we want you to use what you are most comfortable with. Whichever option you choose, remember to always transfer your designs into AsukaBook Templates in ASUKABOOK Maker™ 2, InDesign Tool or Photoshop Blank Templates. They should be pre-set with the correct DPI and dimensions.




4. Check your files

AsukaBook has developed the File Checker application to create a PDF file from your designed files.
The File Checker will create a PDF set to the exact dimensions required for processing an AsukaBook order. The program will verify resolution, pixel dimension, file names, colour profiles and number of pages to help ensure a perfect book.

The program is directly compatible with our Photoshop Blank Templates. Simply design the pages in Photoshop®, save as JPEG format in a folder (Quality 11-12, Baseline Optimized), and drag & drop the folder onto the File Checker icon to create a PDF file of your design.

What is the 'File Checker'?
This application will ensure your files have met the specifications required to produce your AsukaBook. Once you have installed the File Checker, double click and enter your User ID which was provided to you via email when your registration was approved. The File Checker dialog box will display the order details when you drag & drop the folder onto it. Simply select and write the relevant order information and click ''OK'' to generate a single PDF file that will be needed to place an AsukaBook order. The PDF file name must not be changed. If you receive an error message, you must make the appropriate changes to create a file for your order. Please click here for further help on error messages.


Please review Template Layout Tips on the layout of your design relative to AsukaBook template guidelines and book specifications to ensure proper image and text placement within your book design to avoid common errors and production delays.

Also please be sure to use the ''Soft Proof'' method on your images before finishing your layout.

5. Place an order

We only accept the order of PDF file created by ASUKABOOK Maker™ 2 or our File Checker programe.

Order Online

You can upload your PDF file(s) online using our FTP Uploader software. Please e-mail a request to us for Mac or PC version and install the Uploader on your machine. Simply drag & drop your PDF file(s) into it and they will come straight through to our system. Once you have successfully uploaded your PDF file(s), you will automatically receive an ''Upload Confirmation'' e-mail. Within 48 hours from receipt of your order, we will send you an ''Order Confirmation'' e-mail *. If concerns are found during the review of your file(s), you will be contacted at that time.

If you would like to apply for a Sample Discount or Rush Order, please contact us upon receipt of an ''Uploader Confirmation'' e-mail.

* Order will be processed 24 hours from the Order Confirmation email date. Notification to amend or cancel the order must be made within this 24 hour period. Full payment of the order will be required once printing has commenced. For payment, you will be contacted via email or phone within 2 working days. Please download the Credit Card Authorisation Form and send it back to us. Bank Transfer or Cheque (Payment to ''everleaf Ltd'') are acceptable.



Mail Order

If you prefer not to place your order online, you can burn the PDF file(s) on a disc and send it by post.
Please complete an Order by Post and Credit Card Authorisation Form, and write the following information on the disc: Studio Name, User ID and Telephone Number.

6. Receive your AsukaBook

You will receive your AsukaBook order in 3-4 weeks from when your order goes to production.
If the Rush Order was applied, you will receive your AsukaBook order in 2-3 weeks.

All packages are dispatched through City Link or Royal Mail Special Delivery unless otherwise specified.

Your order file(s) will be stored in our system for a period of 90 days from the date the order was placed.
You may order reprints at any time during this 90-days period at a discounted price (Additional copy price).
